Potter Ka Kai Fong
Potter Ka Kai Fong is a Malaysian trainer, facilitator and community leader working across youth development, digital safety and community empowerment. He is the Founder of BeBetterTogether Sdn Bhd, a training and consultancy company that helps people develop the confidence and skills to lead, collaborate and contribute to their communities. His experience spans university operations, international programme, leadership development and volunteer mobilisation, including roles with Xiamen University Malaysia and The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation as well as Lions Clubs International. Across these settings, Potter brings a practical understanding of how to turn programme objectives into meaningful learning experiences, particularly for people with different languages, backgrounds and levels of confidence.
As an appointed trainer for the Online Safety programme, supported by The Asia Foundation and implemented in Malaysia by GivingHub, Potter delivers digital safety workshops for local communities, including older adults and rural residents. Conducting sessions in Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin, he uses familiar everyday situations, interactive discussions and practical examples to help participants recognise scams, protect personal information and respond to suspicious requests. His sessions also address emerging threats such as AI-generated voice and video impersonation, encouraging participants to verify identities through a separate, trusted channel before taking action. Having personally encountered an online task scam, he brings an honest, empathetic perspective to conversations about fraud, recognising that awareness must address both technical risks and the psychological tactics used to manipulate trust.
Beyond digital education, Potter has served as Chairperson for Lions Clubs International which covering Malaysia and Brunei, and as a International Presidential Appointee to its International Board of Directors. He also supports youth leadership through the Leo movement and Malaysia’s Rakan Muda programme. Guided by his personal philosophy, #BeBetter2gether, Potter believes inclusive growth depends on equipping people with the knowledge, confidence and support to participate safely in an increasingly digital world.
