Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan

Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan is the Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director of GX Bank Berhad, Malaysia’s first digital bank. With over four decades of experience in banking, finance, corporate governance, and capital markets, she has held senior leadership positions at Price Waterhouse, Maybank, and the Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (MARC), where she served as President. She has also chaired and served on the boards of leading financial institutions, including Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad and Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad, where she championed an impact-driven financing framework aligned with Malaysia’s national development priorities and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A respected leader in the global accountancy profession, Datuk Zaiton is Deputy President of the ACCA Global Council and has held leadership roles with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). She is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia Professional Accountancy Centre (MyPAC), a non-profit organisation dedicated to expanding access to professional accountancy education for underprivileged students, reflecting her commitment to inclusive growth, sustainable development, and good governance.
